Walk-On Scholarship
Already enrolled in college?
The University of Richmond ROTC program provides you with the tools to become an Army Officer without interfering with your other classes. Students currently enrolled at UR or one of our participating universities can start by registering for a Military Science and Leadership basic elective course.
Students who enter the program as sophomores, juniors, or graduate students attend the Cadet Initial Entry Training for four weeks during the summer at Fort Knox, Kentucky, in lieu of the first two years of military science classes.
Campus Based Scholarships
Prospective cadets can compete for two, three, or four-year scholarship options for full time undergraduate students. Two year scholarships are available for graduate students. Cadets must take and pass the Army Physical Fitness Test and meet Height/Weight Standards and posses a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in order to be contracted. Scholarships cover the entire cost of either tuition and fees or housing and food and an annual $1,200 book stipend.
Students do not have to be on scholarship to contract and work toward a commission. All contracted cadets receive a monthly stipend of $300 to $500 regardless of scholarship status.
