Captain Chance M. Carrick was assigned to the University of Richmond as the Assistant Professor of Military Science in March, 2018. The son of a career Army Officer, CPT Carrick’s family is originally from Howell, NJ. He commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer in May, 2014, following graduation from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.

CPT Carrick’s career began at Fort Sill, Oklahoma where he attended Field Artillery Basic Officer Leadership Course (FA-BOLC) and Joint Fires Observer (JFO) course. Following FA-BOLC, he reported to 1-9 FA, 3ID DIVARTY in Fort Stewart, GA. While at Fort Stewart CPT Carrick served as a Fire Support Officer for D/3-15 IN, 2 IBCT. Following his FSO time he reported to Charlie Battery, 1-9 FA, where he served as a Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Leader, and Executive Officer. In 2016 CPT Carrick served as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for AFRICOM’s Eastern Accord mission in Dar Es Salam, Tanzania.

CPT Carrick holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy in Management. He is married to Lindsay (Rheiner) Carrick, a United States Marine Corps Officer currently stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Quantico, VA.
