SFC Justin Meiers

    Sergeant First Class Justin Meiers is from Medina, New York. He graduated from L.A. Weber High School in June 2003. Afterward, he attended Infantry One Station Unit Training (OSUT) in Fort Benning, Georgia, and enlisted in the U.S. Army as an indirect fire infantryman (11C) in July 2007.

    Upon completing training, Meiers was assigned to the 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany where he deployed to Iraq (OIF 7-9) followed by Afghanistan (OEF 10-11). SFC Meiers served as a Rifleman, M249 Saw Gunner, and Section Sergeant. 

    He was reassigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment at Fort Stewart, Georgia, where he deployed to Afghanistan as a Mortar Section Sergeant. He then volunteered to attend the United States Army Drill Sergeant School in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Following graduation, he was assigned as a Drill Sergeant at 1-19 Infantry Regiment Fort Moore, Georgia. SFC Meiers was then selected to serve as a Drill Sergeant Leader at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Following his time at Fort Jackson, Meiers served as a Platoon Sergeant in the 1st Cavalry Division and as a Division G3 Operations NCO in Fort Cavazos, Texas. SFC Meiers was then assigned to the Joint Multinational Training Center as the Task Force Senior Mortar Observer Coach and Trainer (OC/T).

    He assumed his current role as the Military Science Instructor at Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney College in July 2024. He serves as an instructor for the program’s ROTC cadets, overseeing the development of their leadership attributes and competencies.
