    Captain Justin Joiner was born in Waynesboro, Mississippi, and spent his childhood in Mobile, Alabama. In 2016, he graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, with Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Legal Studies. After his undergraduate studies he was commissioned into the Military Police (MP) Corps of the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant.

    CPT Joiner’s first assignment was Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he served as an Operations Officer in the 728th Military Police Battalion. He went on to serve as a Platoon Leader in the 558th Military Police Company and an Executive Officer in the 552d Military Police Company. While in the 728th, CPT Joiner deployed in support of multinational training events across the Hawaiian Islands and Australia working adjacent with our foreign allies in the Pacific Region. CPT Joiner also worked under the US Army Garrison-Hawaii as a Law Enforcement Operations Officer prior to attending the MP Captain’s Career Course (CCC). While at MP CCC, CPT Joiner graduated from Webster University with a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management.

    Following the MP CCC, CPT Joiner was assigned to the 720th Military Police Battalion, Fort Cavazos, Texas (formerly Fort Hood). CPT Joiner first served as the Battalion Training Officer prior to a rapid deployment to Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, where he served as the Fort McCoy Operations Officer during Operation Allies Refuge/ Operation Allies Welcome (OAR/OAW). Upon returning from deployment, CPT Joiner served as the Battalion S4 for six months before taking command of the 401st Military Police Company “Gunfighters”. While commanding the 401st MP Company from 2022 to 2024, CPT Joiner deployed to Europe in support of the European Deterrence Initiative and provided law enforcement support and combat support training to six installations in Germany and Italy. During his command, CPT Joiner also graduated from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill with a Master’s in Business Administration.

    Currently, CPT Joiner is the Assistant Professor of Military Science at Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, Virginia.
